ENERGY ASSISTANCE AGENCIES

1) Project SHARE

1-800-25-SHARE outside Atlanta or The Salvation Army in your county.
Donations to Project SHARE are matched dollar for dollar by Georgia Power and assistance is provided within the county given. Project SHARE helps people in need with utilities, housing and other necessities.

2) Fulton Atlanta Community Action Authority

Fulton Atlanta CCA receives a funding from the state through block grants to assist low income and elderly with emergency and small financial assistance. Pay rent and utilities. LIHEAP is a once a year assistance where Government allocates funding to assist low income residence energy bills.

3) Sullivan Center

The Sullivan Center will pay a maximum of $250 towards the payment of mortgage, rent or utility bills. Recipients must attend four nutrition and financial planning classes (one hour each) once a week.

4) Jefferson Place

Assist homeless individuals to move back into permanent housing. Provides job training, child care, food and clothing. Emergency and transitional housing are available. Pay rental and utility deposits for the first month, half the rent and utility bill the second month and one third of the rent and utility bills the third month. Georgia Power works with Jefferson Place by waiving the deposit after a credit scoring.

5) Poverty Rights

Is a ministry out of Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta -- community service center to get photo IDs, birth certificates, help people get help from other organizations—they have very low budget, but occasionally pay very small utility bills and partial rent.

6) St Vincent DePaul

Provides payment of rent, utilities, food, clothing - money comes from parishioners in church. Volunteers from churches run the program.
