sustaining grace

"But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which [was bestowed] upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me."

~1 Corinthians 15:10

Meditation: Years ago, I heard a choir sing a song. While I can't remember the exact title, I so vividly remember the chorus, "No, it's not I, but the Christ that lives in me." Our God is an incredible God who wants to see His children blessed. However, sometimes we can get so caught up in the blessings that we tend to try and take the credit for that which He has done. Let us embrace the attitude that says, "No, it's not I, but the Christ that lives in me."

Prayer: God, You are so wonderful! Thank You for being the great God that You are, and thank You for the abundant blessings that are upon our lives. Without You, we are nothing. Without You, we could do nothing. Help us to forever give you praise, honor, and glory; for truly, You are worthy. You are our Lord and our King. In Jesus' name we pray. AMEN.
